ROOSEVELT CLEANUP
By Bill Walker
Saturday, May 4, a group from the FSS went to Roosevelt for a cave
cleanup - Adam, Ryan, The Roberts, and the Walkers. I went to the cave a few weeks ago and noticed a considerable amount of trash. It seems a few local kids have been "surveying" the cave lately. I found twine and survey tape strung throughout the cave. There was a considerableamount of trash in the entrance, 3 boogie boards on the "beach", and latex gloves(?) throughout the cave.
Roosevelt is normally a pretty clean cave considering the local traffic it gets, it was time for a cleanup. Most of the trash was in the entrance room and we spent about 15 minutes cleaning it up. The rest of the cave wasn't too bad. The kids had a couple thousand feet of twine strung up on the ceiling and various bits of trash scattered. We just caved and picked up as we went and pulled out about 5 small bags of trash.
