Those attending the Bat cave trip during the CDS workshop were few in numbers (compared to last year's 30), but strong in determination. (to have fun climbing in a little tiny cave not filled with water that is.)

There were 3 trips into Bat cave on Sunday May 25. The first trip consisted of Sullivan and Caren Beck (the guides) and Clive Rountree and Harold King from Atlanta. This was more of a fossil finding expedition with not too much interest in tight squeezes so many north Florida dry caves have to offer?

The second into bat cave consisted of Wes' daughter Tessa, and some of her friends Bob, Jakeb, Jakeb’s wife (sorry I can't remember your name), and their daughter Mariana. Also guiding this trip was Craig Spirko and Lisa Rowan. With two young and very energetic girls (of about 10 years old) this trip was wonderful fun watching the girls squeeze through the tiniest of holes (of course they made it look easy compared to the adults that tried it!)

The last trip consisted of Sandra Poucher and Timothy Green. We gave Tim the award for having the most fun on a dry cave trip! He really enjoyed the squeezes and climbs, which was pretty impressive to watch considering his 6 foot stature! Definitely a plus for the climbs, but for the squeezes... he did amazingly well! Sandra had fun trying to fit into a tiny squeeze but wore her thick jeans and couldn't quite make it... even with Sullivan pushing from behind. It still made for a great picture though!
